We are taking on the Conqueror Challenge in 2025, aiming to travel 100km each for fitness while supporting Taronga Zoo’s vital wildlife conservation programs. Taronga Zoo is a global leader in protecting endangered species, restoring habitats, and ensuring a future for wildlife.
As part of the Conqueror Challenge, for every 20% of our goal that we complete, a tree is planted somewhere in the world. Through this initiative, and with the help of veritree, over 13 million trees have been planted globally at the time of writing, making this challenge a win for both wildlife conservation and the environment.
Your support will help fund efforts like:
• Breeding programs for endangered species: Taronga is part of international breeding efforts for animals like the Sumatran Tiger, Black Rhino, and Regent Honeyeater.
• Wildlife rehabilitation: Every year, Taronga’s wildlife hospitals care for over 1,500 injured or orphaned native animals, including koalas, sea turtles, and echidnas, helping many return to the wild.
• Global conservation projects: Taronga supports more than 50 field programs worldwide, including initiatives to protect African lions, cheetahs, and giraffes.
• Platypus conservation: Taronga operates the world’s largest conservation centre for platypuses, ensuring the survival of this unique and iconic species.
• Critical habitat restoration: Taronga collaborates on projects like the restoration of rainforests in Borneo to save orangutans and their ecosystems.
• Environmental education: Through programs reaching hundreds of thousands of visitors and students annually, Taronga inspires people to act for a more sustainable future.
Every step we take represents our commitment to ensuring a thriving future for the planet’s most vulnerable wildlife. Together, we can make a difference for animals like African lions, Sumatran Tigers, and even the unique platypus—all while contributing to a healthier planet.
